"It's a big favourite of mine," she said yesterday. "I don't mind mixing it up from time to time, but I always come back to chocolate." Miss Rossiter has landed a gig as manager of Launceston's first Cold Rock Ice Creamery, which opens its doors today. The franchise is popular for its wide variety of ice-cream combinations, 32 flavours behind drool-proof glass. A selection of lollies, chocolates, fruits and nuts can be added to cups or cones for those in adventurous moods. Miss Rossiter will lead a team of 13 staff, many of whom are high school and university students. The chocoholic said the job was a way to fund her studies and keep a handle on the real world. "It's all well and good to study, but if you don't have any work experience or practice, you can't apply it later on," she said. "Most job opportunities out there involve some level of customer service and people management, so developing these skills here will be great in the future." Miss Rossiter said she had noticed a lot of hype around the opening of the shop. "A lot of people in Launceston have heard of Cold Rock but never tasted it," she said.
