Between 30 and 40 competitors are gearing up for the Tasmanian Wakeboarding Summer Series' second round at the Northern Aquatic Club at Trevallyn Dam.
More than 100 riders took part in last year's Tasmanian Wakeboarding Association series and Launceston wakeboarder Matthew Vos, 23, said the sport continued to grow momentum in Tasmania.
The state's best will be performing tricks for points as they shred and soar off massive wake.
"It's a whole lot of fun and you get a lot of enjoyment out of it," Vos said.
* The Tasmanian Wakeboarding Summer Series starts at Trevallyn at 8.30am and runs until 6pm.
