``AFL 9s is the AFL's newest game _ it's a fast, free-flowing game that involves nine players on each team playing on a smaller field,'' Launceston Football Club general manager Darrin Geard said.
``Best of all, it's mixed touch football competition with no tackling or bumping, making it suitable for people of any age or skill level.
``The LFC is excited to have the AFL 9s at Windsor Park, and we are seeking more teams to participate in this roster, which is only for six weeks, so it is completed before any of the major football competitions commence.''
Geard said the premiers from the last roster, the Prospect Hawks Misfits, were committed to defending their title, and have thrown out the challenge for other clubs to enter teams.
``We see this as an opportunity to have some fun with our mates, while working on our football skills and providing some variety to our preseason training,'' team representative Michael Sinclair said.
