Senseless thieves stole cherished Christmas lights from the front yard of a family home on bustling Main Road last week.
The brazen theft dealt a shattering blow to eight-year-old Deacon Hill, who lives at the house with his parents.
Deacon is on the autism spectrum and takes great joy from the festive display each year.
After the story of the brazen theft was printed in The Examiner yesterday, the family affected have been overwhelmed by community support.
``A beautiful elderly couple as well as one of my neighbours each dropped off some lights,'' his mother Rebecca Edison said.
``Deacon is over the moon.''
