Mikayla Riley, Courtney Gibbons, Madison Nielsen, Emma Kruijuer and Shaniya Richardson are taking part in an annual program and will be joined by students from Kingston and Taroona high schools.
They will be staying at Suphanburi, also known as the golden province, and will be visiting Sa-nguan Ying School.
The school has about 3200 students - mostly girls - and has a program where students study all of their subjects in English.
On July 1, the students met with the mayor of Muang Suphanburi, where they presented him with a gift from George Town Mayor Roger Broomhall.
While away, the students will be fully immersing themselves in Thai culture, participating in activities provided by their host school and addressing audiences in Thai and English.
