The 22-year-old put on a clinical performance for his state against the NEAFL at Skoda Stadium in Sydney - collecting 23 possessions, 11 marks, 4 tackles, 18 hitouts, seven inside 50 entries, and contributed 3.3 to the scoreboard.
The effort was enough to earn McCulloch the Lefroy medal for Tassie's best on ground in its 40-point win.
The humble big man said the game was about winning respect back for Tasmanian football.
"The boys played well. It was good to get a win especially after a tough game last year against the VFL," McCulloch said.
"This game was pretty important after people had lost a bit of respect for Tassie footy.
"It is a pretty famous guernsey in Australian football up there with the Big V. When you put the Tassie guernsey on, you go out and those second-grade efforts aren't good enough - you've got to put a great effort in."
McCulloch, who was delisted by Brisbane in 2011, has been a key part of South Launceston's form backflip and has been a solid performer at State League level.
He said it was great to see the best Tasmanian players gel together and produce such a positive performance. "It felt like a real team today and obviously it was nice to get a couple of kicks and sink a couple of goals myself," McCulloch said.
"The ball movement was pretty swift, it was good conditions for footy, but the way the boys moved the ball, locked inside and then got it into the forwards pretty quick was great.
"It is the best players in the TSL coming together and you could really tell that the speed of the game was up and the execution was right there as well."
