CRICKETER Ricky Ponting is bowing out of the Sydney suburb of Burraneer, having listed his waterfront home for about $5 million.
The five-bedroom property in Sydney's south hit the market just six weeks after Ponting dropped almost $10 million on a mansion on the Golden Mile of Brighton in Melbourne.
The family will be leaving nearby neighbour Glenn McGrath in favour of cricket legend Shane Warne and his girlfriend Liz Hurley, who also have a home in Brighton.
Ponting and his wife, Rianna, bought the three-level property in Burraneer in 2004 for $3.8 million before carrying out an extensive renovation.
Selling agent Sean Egan, of McGrath Sutherland Shire, said that ``there is not much left of the original building''.
It comes with an infinity saltwater pool, a sauna and private jetty, as well as a home cinema and guest accommodation.
Privacy was also paramount to the Pontings.
``It's located down a private road and once you shut the front door it's very private . . . obviously that was part of the brief when they designed the property,'' Mr Egan said.
