However the Tasmanian Fire Service said not enough rain fell to contain the fires or reduce dangerous fire conditions over the next month.
A small fire which ignited yesterday afternoon at Pipers Brook has now been contained.
The state’s two worst fires, at Molesworth and Gretna in the South, have also eased considerably.
