Tigers aim to hold on to fourth

CONSOLIDATION is the theme for the Melbourne Tigers ahead of their clash against the Adelaide 36ers at Adelaide Arena on Sunday at 1pm.

The Tigers took hold of fourth place with a win over Wollongong on Friday night and now need to beat Adelaide to keep their grip on the last position in the NBL play-offs.

While the Sixers sit in bottom spot, they pushed Perth Wildcats to the limit on Friday night before losing in the last quarter.

Tigers captain Tommy Greer said his side knew it had to perform against the Sixers.

''Friday night was a must-win for us, but this is a massive game as well in terms of solidifying ourselves in the top four,'' he said.

Greer said the Tigers had found their confidence when dealing with tight finishes to games.

''The tide has turned for us, all our wins have been tight and we have been able to come up with stops and big plays down the stretch,'' he said.
