The Derby bub was delivered at 4.40pm on Thursday at the Sideling Lookout above Scottsdale.
It was a day when tourists got more than they bargained for and Kaiden's parents had a first birth experience they certainly won't forget.
For Scottsdale intensive care paramedic Peter James it was one of his more memorable deliveries
``We were half-way up the Sideling and I thought she's not going to get to the LGH [Launceston General Hospital],'' Mr James said.
The 37-year veteran pulled in to the lookout and delivered his 21st baby.
``A little boy beginning life with a great outlook,'' he said.
``He's fine, healthy and they're a great family.''
It's going to be a great story for Kaiden as he grows up, Mr James said.
Kaiden's father, Jeffery, agrees and has already booked in the lookout for his son's 18th birthday.
Kaiden's mother, Natasha Hill, said she and the new four-kilogram baby were doing ``perfectly''.
She had been shopping earlier in the day before going into labour. At first it appeared there was ``plenty of time'' before it became apparent she would need an ambulance.
She said she couldn't remember a whole lot but was told the tourists `` weren't sure what to do''.
It will also be a story not soon forgotten by two ambulance volunteers who witnessed their first delivery that day.
Mr James said it was the kind of call-out that didn't happen enough.
``We see a lot of sickness and trauma so as a job it was just really good, uplifting,'' he said.
