More than 100 people rocked up to watch the West Tamar Municipal Band and St Andrew's Caledonian Pipe Band play in the City Park, in the second concert in a series of four put on by the Launceston City Council.
"It's been fantastic ... it was my little boy's first birthday so we thought we would come here for a picnic and it has been really relaxing - considering it is not something that we'd normally go to," Mrs Langdon said.
"We will definitely be back next week. The kids can just run and play ... and you can sit down and relax."
The West Tamar Municipal Band donated its $250 concert payment to the Tasmanian Bushfire Appeal through the St Vincent de Paul Society, and a further $750 was collected by onlookers.
Those who loved the sound of the St Andrew's Caledonian Pipe Band's bagpipes can hear it all again this Saturday at the Devonport Entertainment and Convention Centre as part of Scottish Power.
