Cosgrove dumped from one day team

TASMANIAN selectors have had enough of Mark Cosgrove's poor performance against the white ball this summer, axing him from the squad to face Western Australia in Burnie on Saturday.

The 28-year-old opener has scored just 51 runs in four knocks in the coloured clothing, with 37 of those runs coming against South Australia on October 30.

This is in stark comparison to his Sheffield Shield form, where he as made 373 runs at an average of 37.30, including one century.

Limited overs strike bowler Ben Laughlin will also miss the West Park encounter with a minor quadricep injury.

Batsman Jordan Silk is a chance to make his debut, with Ben Dunk and all-rounder Evan Gulbis also coming into the Tigers' squad.

Saturday's game will begin at 10.30am.

Tasmanian squad: George Bailey (c), Aiden Blizzard, Jackson Bird, Xavier Doherty, Alex Doolan, Ben Dunk, James Faulkner, Andrew Fekete, Evan Gulbis, Jason Krejza, Tim Paine, Jordan Silk, Jon Wells.
