LAUNCESTON'S Stephen Matthews won the open men's solo race in the Launceston Mountain Bike Club's two-hour enduro event at Hollybank Reserve yesterday.

Matthews completed nine laps of the course to win by two minutes from Brendan Adair and Tom Goddard.
The women's solo open race went to Deviot's Jody Bush who completed eight laps to win from Launceston's Angelique Sanders and Kate Clark.
Emily Down, of Golconda, was the winner of the under-17 women's event from Dilston's Eva Lack, while Evandale's Sam Vanbaalen took out the under-17 men's race from Ewan Ferrier, of Launceston.
The veteran women's race went to Katrina Cathcart from Heather Cooper, both completing seven laps.
Wesley Heckendors won the veteran men's category.
About 85 riders contested the enduro in warm and sunny conditions.
