The 19-year-old Launceston rider has already been told there is a position for him in the strong Hobart Genesys Wealth Advisers team if he isn't included in Australia's under-23 road squad.
Clements will attend an Australian Institute of Sport training camp in Adelaide, on December 3-7, and from there the national under-23 team will be announced.
Clements said he was grateful to Genesys team manager Andrew Christie-Johnson for showing interest in him.
``I've spoken to Andrew quite a bit over the past few months,'' he said.
Genesys is recognised as Australia's most dominant domestic cycling team and recently won its ?third national road series crown.
Christie-Johnson has been impressed with the development of Clements over the past year and said his climbing ability would add to the team's strength.
``It is always good to support a Tasmanian cyclist,'' he said.
After starting a scholarship with the Tasmanian Institute of Sport under the tutelage of firstly Matthew Gilmore and then Gene Bates, Clements had his taste of international cycling earlier this year.
He was selected to ride in the Australian under-23 team in the Tour of Singarak in Indonesia where he finished fourth on general classification.
He has spent the rest of the year riding for Team Polygon in national road series events.
Clements doesn't have to look far for motivation.
``Richie Porte and Bernie and Wes ?Sulzberger have shown how far you can get in cycling,'' he said.
Clements enjoys this time of year when he can get the chance to train ?alongside the three cyclists during their break from European commitments.
After Clements returns from Adelaide on ?December 7 he will ride in the Tasmanian road championships the following day and the Stan Siekja Launceston Cycling Classic the day after.
