Police charge five protesters

Five protesters have been charged with trespass-related offences following a demonstration at Ta Ann's mill at Lonnavale near Huonville this morning.

Earlier this morning, the Huon Valley Environment Centre announced that 18 protesters from its group planned to disrupt work at the mill today.

The group said four women had attached themselves to parts of the mill, inside the mill and on the entrance gate.

Those charged will appear in the Huonville Magistrates Court on January 18, 2013.
