Fire and Rescue NSW( FRNSW) has assisted NSW Ambulance in extricating an injured man from a Blackwoods Beach, Cronulla today. They were called to the spot around 10.30am following reports that a man was found injured on the rocks. The man, in his early 20s is believed to be a surfer who was washed up onto the rocks suffering a leg injuired. NSW Amburlance crew assessed him on the spot before attempted to transport him for the scene. "It was a difficult extrication so we called in FIre and Rescue to task with the rescue," a NSW Ambulance spokesman said. Rescue specialists devised a plan to carry the patient safety along the beach and up the steep, wet rocks to the nearest ambulance. The patient was suffering a serious leg injury and was transported to Sutherland Hospital by NSW ambulance. He is reported to be in a stable condition.
