Start Date: Immediate

Job Description: An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced head stockman to join a family owned Wagyu breeding and backgrounding enterprise 45 km from Moranbah, in the heart of Queensland.

Attention to detail is important. The property is operated under regenerative Ag principles, with the herd moved regularly, mainly with horses however an ability to ride an Ag bike will be advantageous.

Ability to handle mobs of 1500 dry cattle or 400-500 breeders, using low stress stock handling principles. Usual animal husbandry practices at branding & weaning, as well as tagging & taking DNA samples for data entry into the computer stock program.  Data entry on computers, understanding market specs & ability to weigh & draft will all be part of the job. Should enjoy learning as well as teaching as training is provided.

Demonstrated ability to lead a small team and an interest or experience in AI & embryo work an advantage.

Usual maintenance of infrastructure & some property development adds variety to your day.

This position offers a great lifestyle on a well-developed property with good facilities, including a new stable complex, cutting arena under lights, camp draft arena, tennis court & swimming pool as well as a recreation dam for jet skiing.  All work & no play makes Jack a dull boy. Our Jack is certainly not dull??
