Your new role
The Assistant Director, External Budgets supports the Director to oversee a team that is responsible for the portfolio’s input to the Commonwealth Budget process. This may include supervision of junior budget officers within a small team. Specific roles and responsibilities include development of input and analysis to shape the provision of high-quality advice in both written and verbal form to the portfolio’s Ministers and the department’s senior executive.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have prior experience to providing both strategic and technical advice on complex and sensitive matters including the Budget Process Operational Rules, Australian Government Resource Management Framework, Ministerial submissions, briefs and responses to Ministerial correspondence. You will also have a strong ability to manage competing priorities and supervise, manage and develop junior staff.

To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate the above listed skills, be able to work in a team environment, have experience working within a Federal Department / Agency, as would experience using TM1 system with a current security clearance. To be eligible for this role you must be a degree qualified Australian Citizen with a CA / CPA post qualification.
