The Waverley man was riding the jet ski at Ringarooma Bay at Tomahawk on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to the area about 2.45pm.
IN OTHER NEWS:
First aid was provided to the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police and Ambulance Tasmania remain at the scene.
Investigations are expected to continue for a number of hours.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
