The reigning premiers held off a number of second-half challenges to win 52-47.
Club coach Dannie Carstens in charge of the side was beaming after watching last year's nailbiting win from the crowd as opens coach.
This time around in charge of the Cavaliers' future, Carstens said again she could not question their resolve.
"In the middle of the year, we actually had identified that was probably our biggest weakness," she said.
"That is when the chips were down, we got down.
"We had a big look at that and one of our focuses, our words was persistence.
"They certainly did bring that into this game.
"Some of them just had outstanding games and defensively I think that's where we really won the game."
Carstens was full of high praise for Montana Viney despite suffering from tendonitis throughout the year.

But Jess Upton-Greer had been one to hold together the Cavaliers' defence for four quarters while the workload of midcourter Piper Sanders stood out on court.
The Cavaliers' lead blew out to eight goals late in the third term after trailing by one at half-time on Saturday.
Cripps just kept probing to narrow the deficit back to four at the last change.
"That's exactly what we expected from them - they did exactly the same to the Hawks and they really came at them," Carstens said.
"We knew we couldn't go in thinking that a lead, any lead was near enough and good enough in a grand final.
"So I thought it was always going to be about the team that mentally tougher under pressure and make sure they were calm and controlled.
"I felt all these girls played their roles beautifully."
But it took the visitors close to seven minutes in the final quarter to finally break that unassailable four-goal buffer after the home side's defence held firm following a series of timely intercepts.
They had the chance get within two goals, but muffed a turnover and the Cavs went on a three-goal run to effectively kill off the match.
Cavaliers ensured they have now collected their 11th 19-and-unders premiership.
