A "large number" of caravans and trailers have been destroyed during a fire at a warehouse in Hobart.

About 3am on Saturday, Tasmania Fire Service was called to King Trailers' storage facility at New Town.
Damage to the warehouse and its contents is expected to be in the vicinity of several million dollars.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Fire Service and Police Forensic personal will examine the scene later today once the site has been declared safe.
Creek Road remains closed to all traffic. It is expected to be open to traffic later in the morning.
The building has collapsed and the fire is still being cooled down and machinery is being brought in to allow investigators access to determine the cause.
The investigation is expected to take some time due to the scale of the fire, TFS said.
At the time of the incident, about eight TFS resources were at the scene, with six resources including two heavy pumpers remaining on the scene on Saturday morning.
An alert for New Town was issued about 7am. There may be smoke and ash from this fire visible around New Town Road, Sinclear Avenue, Main Road and surrounding areas north of New Town, TFS said.
People with medical conditions are advised to have a personal plan for avoiding smoke from the fire.Advice is available from the Department of Health or the Asthma Foundation of Tasmania.
