Premier League results on Saturday pretty well followed the script with all favoured teams recording wins on greens that were slightly on the slow side after heavy rain during the week.

Burnie defeated Ulverstone despite the Colin Willcox, Robert Eudey, Bob Franklin and Damien Pankhurst rink winning 33-11 for the Robins over Patrick Smith.
As anticipated, Burnie’s Mark Nitz, with Jake Wyllie, John Davis and Patrick Saltmarsh supplying good back-up bowls, finally put it all together defeating Sam McLean 35-14. It was only a matter of time before this rink was going to score a big win. Who was going to be on the receiving end was always the question. David Gamble, Jason Morrisby, Robert Pyke and Jamie Pennington weren’t about to let the Nitz rink take all the credit for the win as they defeated Eden Moore 35-18. Jeremy Turner and Rodney Horton played a 21-shot draw.
South Burnie maintained their two game break on the rest of the field by virtue of their 13-shot win over Penguin after winning on two rinks and sharing the third. Once again it was the Luke Richardson, Jaryd Brown, David Thomas and Elijah Murray rink who set up the win with their 37-21 shot defeat of Shane Stanfield. Ricky Richardson was the other successful skip for South with his 22-20 shot win over Wayne Willcox. Wayne Manson, Jake Moate, Harvey Clarke and Bronwyn King scored two points for the Two Blues with a five-shot win over Cameron Windram and Peter French and Cameron Griffiths managed a 24-shot draw. The loss by Penguin sees them drop to seventh on the ladder.
The Devonport Eagles made it back-to-back wins by comfortably defeating Wynyard by 29 shots, winning on three rinks in the process. This time it was the Michael Higginson, Paul Harker, Ken Fogg and David Eglin rink who were the most impressive for the Eagles winning 38-10. Tristan Bakes had seven up his sleeve against Peter Symes and Ian Moore finished six in front of John Neal. After a 44-15 win last week, the Eagles’ Greg Williamson, Justin Castles, Victor Burnett, Gary Powell rink were soundly defeated by Grant Crowe, Peter Ayton, Kerry Moles and Justin Redman 24-12.
As expected Latrobe had to fight hard before getting the better of the Port Sorell Sharks by six shots, winning on two rinks. The rinks were relatively close with the biggest margin going to the Tim Douce, Mathew Mitchell, Graham Hay and Kelly Mundy rink who won 26-16. Anthony Johns was the other successful skip for the Demons winning his game by two. For the Sharks Aaron Jago won by four against Phillip Mundy and Rohan Donohue held on for a two-shot victory over Greg Douce.
Ladder: South Burnie 85, Burnie 62, Latrobe 61, Ulverstone 54, Port Sorell 44, Devonport Eagles 40, Penguin 33, Wynyard 13.
Winners in Division 1 were Burnie over Ulverstone 94-77, Port Sorell over Latrobe 90-89, South Burnie over Penguin 104-87, and Turners Beach over Devonport Eagles 107-70.
