Rink wins were rather large with the Eden Moore, Ben Fidler, Kevin Lee, Lee Pearson rink completely outclassing the Wayne Manson rink 31-12.
Penguin negated that big win by a large rink win themselves as Shane Stanfield, Evol Kaine, David Osborne and Gaylene Elsworthy played what should have been game-winning bowls to defeat the Robins’ Sam McLean 29-13.
Rodney Horton won 20-15 over Wayne Willcox and Colin Willcox pulled off a seven-shot win over Peter French.
South Burnie showed no mercy to Wynyard defeating them on all rinks by 48 shots.
Cameron Griffiths with maximum support from Nicholas Chilcott, Peter Lockhart and Vaughan Eaves took the John Neal rink apart, winning 39-16.
Equally as effective was the Luke Richardson, Jaryd Brown, Dave Thomas, Elijah Murray rink who defeated David Groenewege 36-17.
In a more sedate scoring game Ricky Richardson defeated Peter Symes 20-17 and to give South the clean sweep, Cameron Windram finished 24-21 ahead of the Cats top rink skippered by Grant Crowe.
The win by South maintains their unbeaten run of six from six putting them on top of the ladder.
Latrobe didn’t let this scribe down with their 95-88-shot defeat of Burnie after sharing the rinks.
Latrobe’s new recruit Tim Douce with consistent back up from another recruit Mathew Mitchell, Graham Hay and Kelly Mundy scored the biggest win of the day, defeating gun Burnie skip Mark Nitz 27-20.
In a high scoring game the Demons’ Phillip Mundy finished five ahead of Patrick Smith defeating him 32-27.
The Tigers’ reliable David Gamble, Jason Morrisby, Robert Pyke and Jamie Pennington quartet defeated Anthony Johns 20-18 in a game that could of gone either way.
Burnie’s second rink win was up to Jeremy Turner who defeated Greg Douce in another close encounter.
In the surprise of the round the Devonport Eagles took the Port Sorell Sharks to the cleaners, defeating them on three rinks by 42 shots.
It was not the win by the Eagles that was the surprise but the size of the win.
Much of the margin came from the massive Greg Williamson, Justin Castles, Victor Burnett and Gary Powell rink win of 44-15.
Other reasonable rink scores included the Michael Higginson rink eight-shot win over Josh Marshall while Ian Moore got the better of last week’s big winner Rohan Donohue 29-20.
It was left to Aaron Jago, Codi Marshall, Ebony White and Robert Jago to salvage two points for the Sharks.
Ladder: South Burnie 74, Burnie 51, Latrobe 51, Ulverstone 51, Port Sorell 40, Penguin 30, Devonport Eagles 28, Wynyard 11.
Winners in division 1 were South Burnie over Turners Beach 103-76, Penguin over Ulverstone 106-73, Burnie by 12 over Latrobe and Port Sorell over Devonport Eagles by one shot 92-91.
