The Robins premiership defence has barely looked in any sort of danger all season, but they travel to Girdlestone Park with only a 2-3 record from their last five games.

The Demons on the other hand bring a six-game unbeaten streak into the encounter and are arguably playing their best football.

However Hayward remains upbeat about his team’s fortunes despite the unwelcome results and believes his team are still doing plenty of things right, especially up forward.

“If you look back at last season we were very similar in terms of our form – we lost our last two roster games and a few people jumped off us,” Hayward said.

“I’m not concerned about losing three out of our last five because we haven’t been in bad form and faced some good opposition. 

“The most pleasing thing over the last three to four weeks is that our forward line is functioning as well as it has done in the last two seasons. 

“We’ve done a bit of work in finding out where players fit in, but they are starting to work for each other as well. 

“It feels like (Brandon) Howard, (Jake) Sushames and (Claye) Sculthorpe provide a really dangerous combination and added to the other players who swing through there like Tyler Everett and the Davies’ brothers, we think we have a side capable of kicking a big score.”
