DAY 5- TUESDAY
6.15pm UPDATE: Queensland have won the 2017-18 Sheffield Shield after chasing down the total of 128 in 22.5 overs with nine wickets in hand.
South Africa-bound Matt Renshaw finished unbeaten on 81 from 83 and Joe Burns mae 41 from 50 for the winners, with Beau Webster (1-7 from two overs) the sole wicket-taker.
Tiger Matthew Wade was named player of the match for his first innings 108.
4pm UPDATE: Tasmania has declared its second innings at 1-166, setting Queensland, which only needs a draw, 128 to win in 32 overs.
2.45pm UPDATE: The umpires are set to inspect the pitch again at 3.10 after had earlier stopped play.
Noon update: Players are off the field at Allan Border Field due to bad light as Queensland edges ever closer to the Shield.
The Tigers had made a strong start to their quest for an unlikely outright victory, moving at a quick pace to 1-166 with Alex Doolan unbeaten on 82 from 74 and Beau Webster on three from four.
Jordan Silk (74 from 78) also helped boost the run-rate.
The Tigers lead by 127 runs.
DAY 4 – Monday
STUMPS UPDATE: Tasmania is 0-10 at stumps in its second innings, trailing Queensland by 29.
The Bulls were dismissed for 516 earlier in the session.
A draw is the likely outcome of this one, which would hand the trophy to Queensland.
TEA UPDATE: The Sheffield Shield final looks headed for a draw with Queensland 6-424 at tea in reply to Tasmania’s 477.
Jimmy Peirson is 37 and Michael Neser is on 31.
Queensland is 6-382 after lunch on the fourth day, with Jimmy Peirson on 2 and Michael Neser on 10, with the game in a holding pattern due to a rain delay.
The Bulls, who only need a draw to take the title, 95 runs behind the Tigers’ first innings total of 477.
DAY 3 – Sunday
12:55 UPDATE – Queensland has made a swift start to chasing down Tasmania’s first-innings total of 477.
The Bulls were 0-23 off three overs at lunch with Matthew Renshaw not out 23 off 15 balls.
Joe Burns (1*) has just face three balls.
Noon UPDATE – Tasmania is in a strong position on day 3 thanks largely to a Matthew Wade (108) century.
Wade was caught behind off Brendan Doggett (5-101) in the morning session.
Tasmania is 9-472 with Sam Rainbird at the crease unbeaten on 53 off 93 balls.
His cameo has been well supported by Andrew Fekete (24*) at the other end.
DAY 2 – Saturday
6.15pm UPDATE – At stumps on day 2 Tigers Matthew Wade is seven short of a century with Tasmania 6-360.
Tom Rogers (28 not out) at the other end.
5.10pm UPDATE – Tasmanian has advanced its position since tea with Matthew Wade (73* including nine four and a six) and Simon Milenko (49* including five fours and two sixes) seeing them to 5-305 off 90 overs.
George Bailey was run out for 51 shortly after tea by Michael Neser.
Wade and Milenko have put on 84 runs.
3.40pm UPDATE – George Bailey and Matthew Wade have put on an 80-run partnership to guide Tasmania to 4-221 at tea.
Bailey (51*) past the half-century mark just before the interval, while Wade is unbeaten on 39.
Both batsman have hit five fours and a six so far.
2.20pm UPDATE – Adam Griffith’s men are precariously placed at 4-153 off 51 overs following the dismissal of Jake Doran for 34.
The young gun was caught behind by Bulls skipper Jimmy Peirson off Brendan Doggett, who has figures of 2-54.
George Bailey is unbeaten on 22, while Matthew Wade is 4 not out.
1.30pm UPDATE – Jordan Silk has departed for a well crafted 76 off 135 balls – caught hooking by Luke Feldman off Brendan Doggett in the 41st over.
Tigers skipper George Bailey (1*) and Jake Doran (25*) are in the middle with Tasmania 3-122.
12.30pm UPDATE – Tasmania has made steady start to its first innings with Jordan Silk unbeaten on 68 off 115 balls, including 10 fours.
He is joined at the crease by Jake Doran (11*) after Alex Doolan (2) and Beau Webster (11) fell cheaply to Michael Neser and Jake Wildermuth, respectively.
The Tigers faced 35 overs in an extended opening session on day 2 to be 2-98 at lunch.
9.30am UPDATE – Tasmanian skipper George Bailey has won the toss and elected to bat after no play on day 1.
Play will start at 10am.
