Co-owners Marcel Ritchie and Freddie Anis recently put the business and property up for sale.
Already they have received interest from people who planned to keep the business running as a Fresh-Mex cafe.
Mr Ritchie said it was difficult for the co-owners to run the business as they both had full time jobs.
“We can’t be in two places at once,” Mr Ritchie said.
“We haven’t taken [the decision] lightly.”
He wanted to keep the Holy Guacamole brand as a staple of the Launceston relaxed dining scene.
The staff were well-adjusted to working in the cafe and Mr Ritchie said he hoped they would continue to be an integral part of the operation.
While they were both passionate about the business, neither were able to devote the amount of time to running the cafe, he said.
Selling to an owner/operator who wanted Holy Guacamole to grow and prosper would be an ideal scenario, Mr Ritchie said. A new owner would have the opportunity to grow the business by expanding the opening hours for night dining, he said.
