As part of Harmony Week, about 50 children from Chinese, Sudanese and Bhutanese communities came together for a food sharing event.
Everything from couscous, Sudanese doughnuts and sticky fried rice were included on the menu.
Playgroup coordinator Bec Blair said it was a fantastic celebration.
“This is a great way to celebrate Harmony Day and diversity,” she said.
“But really our message to the kids is always one of acceptance and that everybody belongs, no matter what the day is.”
The event also included a visit from Launceston LINC, who hosted a multilingual story time, sing along session and fun face painting.
The MRC multicultural playgroup has been running for more than a decade.
The group meets every Monday during the school term and offers support to local and migrant parents with children under five years.
