The incident occurred about 4.20pm on Sunday.
Police from Sorell and Triabunna attended the scene, alongside Tasmania Fire Service, and Tasmania Ambulance resources such as the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
The truck was located on a private road, and was on its roof with damage to the cabin.
The sole occupant of the truck, a 66-year-old man, was conscious in the cabin.
The truck had significant damage to the fuel tanks, with diesel fuel throughout the cabin.
Emergency services cut the driver free over two hours.
Once removed, the man was treated by emergency services at the scene before being flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
It was believed the man was dropping a load of gravel onto the road when the truck lost traction due to the rain. It then hit a bank and rolled onto its roof.
Senior Sergeant Troy Hodge said the man was very lucky to escape without serious injury.
“Workplace standards were notified and the investigation into the exact cause of the crash is ongoing but no charges will be laid,” he said.
