With two state titles up for grabs, the street stock ironman and the fire-breathing sprintcars, it was always going to be a spectacular meeting.

Luke Redpath won his second wingless championship starting from outside of the front row passing Jeremy Smith in turn one.

From here, even though Smith had better car speed later in the race, he was unable to make a passing move.

Redpath concentrated on keeping smooth and covering his lines and that proved the key element to his victory.

The real battle saw Bradley Walkley passing Jamie Rolls late in the race after a massive battle.

Dwayne Sonners won his third Tassie sixes state championship when pre-race favourite Cameron Briggs encountered dramas passing lapped traffic.

Briggs held a commanding lead with just over 10 laps remaining when he tangled with duelling cars he was lapping. Sonners had his work cut out with Jarrod Francombe all over him during several restarts that occurred late in the race.

Paul Howard was running third but slipped back to fifth when passed by Peter Johnston and Brad Cowen on the final laps.

Sonners revealed that the outcome could have been very different as he was out of fuel at the end of the victory lap.

The street stock ironman proved to be a 40-lap endurance event with only seven cars finishing of 20 starters.

With the top qualifiers starting from the rear it was always going to be a hard fought affair.

Adrian Jones led early but by lap 10 defending champ Ben Riley had hit the front only to retire several laps later with a puncture.

Dale Riley Jr also led until retiring 10 laps later. Brendon Green took the lead only to be chased down and passed by eventual winner Troy Russell.

Behind them Corey Bauld and Corey Jetson had their own battles, Bauld eventually breaking clear of Jetson and closing in and passing third placed finisher Green with five laps to go.

Steve Russell passed Jetson for fourth while Brian Morice and Terri Farrell rounded out the finishers.

The sprintcar race had plenty of on and off track drama with Chris Johns using traffic and his love of running wide on the track to pass Jamie Bricknell for victory.

Bricknell just held out Adam Alexander at the line.

Karts started the proceedings with Kaleb Sims winning the juniors and Aaron Bissett dominating the seniors.

AMCAs had a tough night with a massive pile up early in their race.

Daniel Brooks drove a smart race before adding another victory to his impressive tally.
