The Irish opened its doors at 9am on Saturday, with a solid crowd building throughout the afternoon to take part in the festivities.
By 3.30pm, the pub was a sea of green, orange and white, even drawing people from the motherland itself.
Belfast-native Norman Hamilton said while Launceston was a bit quieter than back home on St Patrick’s day, the basic ingredients were still the same for him.
“I’m a typical Irish boy – I’ll just sit and drink [on St Patrick’s Day] and have a good laugh,” he said.
“If you can’t have a laugh, you can’t live.”
While Westbury’s Irish Festival was cancelled this year, the town still celebrated with the St Patrick’s Day Shindig at the town hall.
Among the performers were dancers from the Palmer Studio of Irish Dance and folk duo Hamish Pike and Joanne Mitchelson.
