Thousands turned out for a day of cultural festivities, with communities from Sudan, Korea, Malaysia, Bhutan, Sierra Leone and Nepal among those in the spotlight.
Migrant Resource Centre North chief executive Ella Dixon said the day highlighted the diversity within the community and allowed different groups to come together and network.
“There is no better way to open the heart and minds of people than through food, music and dance,” she said.
“I think people come here today and are genuinely surprised by what they see.
“We have a very vibrant, diverse community and Harmony Day is all about celebrating the best of that.
“It also allows our groups to share their experiences and a special part of what makes their particular culture so unique.”
Harmony Day has been recognised nationally on March 21 since 1999.
