On Friday the Launceston landmark returned to George Street after a six month absence.
The sign was sent away in September for repairs and Boag’s head brewer Nathan Calman said it was great to see it back.
“We’re thrilled to have the iconic neon Boag’s sign back in its rightful place over the brewery,” he said.
“Just like the brewery itself, the Boag’s sign is an integral part of the local community.
“After 40 years, the sign was in need of a bit of TLC.
“It’s great to see it back in place, good as new, and shining over Launceston”
Before its repairs, the neon sign had become infamous for reading ‘Boags Brew’.
Kings Meadow’s business Docs Signs and Flying Colours were responsible for the restoration and general manager Andrew Bennett said they were very pleased with the result.
“When the sign first came down, it was very badly rusted and degraded,” he said.
“We decided to start from scratch, but the lettering cases are original. It was very exciting to see it put back up.”
The sign will be lit-up on Monday.
