Mr Hodgman said it was an opportunity for stakeholders and peak bodies to come together to “collaborate on solutions to address Tasmania’s housing shortage.”
“We recognise immediate action is needed to alleviate the housing concerns of Tasmanians doing it tough,” he said.
Labor Pembroke MLC Jo Siejka said Labor was keen for “tangible outcomes from the summit.”
“We’re really hopeful it won’t turn into a three hour talkfest,” Ms Siejka said.
“A lot needs to be done to alleviate this crisis and how the solutions are implemented is important.
“Everybody deserves a home and we need a range of housing.”
Mr Hodgman said a communique would be released after the summit outlining the outcomes and solutions to address the housing shortage.
