The conference program has been designed to show dairy farmers how to increase efficiency, using case studies of successful farms to illustrate, DairyTas executive officer Jonathan Price said.
“Key presentations will include how the LEAN Manufacturing principles can be applied to dairy businesses and insights on how management decisions are made on successful farms from across the state,” Mr Price said.
Speakers include Dairy Australia communications strategy manager Glenys Zucco, United Dairy Farmers Victoria president Adam Jenkins, Sarah Watson from peopleMAD in New Zealand and panellists on management and reproduction.
Roberts State rural supplies manager Josh Sattler said the organisation was looking forward to being involved with the annual conference.
“It is a great opportunity for people across the industry to come together and gain ideas on what they may wish to implement into their dairy business,” Mr Sattler said.
Rex James Stock Feed operations manager Samuel James said the industry had a renewed sense of optimism that was felt at such events.
“The dairy conference plays an important role in updating the industry on relevant issues both on the farm and throughout the sector,” Mr James said.
The Tasmanian Dairy Conference is at Country Club Tasmania on March 15.
