Over the years many of Australia’s biggest names in sprintcar racing have competed, ensuring the coveted trophy is held in very high regard.

This year it has drawn a fantastic 14-car field. 

Pre-race favourite would have to be Jamie Bricknell who recently won his third Tasmanian sprintcar championship at this track.

He is also a multiple winner of this event and this track suits his driving style.

Last year’s winner Jason Redpath is always deceptively fast and is looking to go back-to-back.

His team mate Adam Alexander has been on the podium for this race in the past and although lacking the consistency of last season, he is a serious contender.

Jock Goodyer quick-timed at the World Series which shows how quickly he has adapted to the big cars.

Nick Anderson has been out of sprintcar racing a street stock and will relish the big horsepower and downforce.

Rookie driver Tate Frost has certainly chosen a big event to make his debut. Others to watch for are podium-place drivers from the recent state title Mark House and Nick Penno.

The AMCA State Title will be held after the recent rain out, 19 entries guaranteeing some wheel-to-wheel racing.

Daniel Brooks has won the last three state championships and will be eager to engrave his name on the trophy again. He faces stiff opposition from feature winners Justin Richardson and Adrian Bassett.

Jake Briggs, Rohan Blair, Rodney Bassett and Jordan Nossitter are also in contention for victory.

Rookie Ellis Dickenson certainly announced his arrival mixing with race leaders and could be an outside chance.

Junior sedans have a near-capacity entry of 29 drivers all looking to gain extra race experience ahead of their state title at the end of the month.

Tassie sixes have a strong entry list and will race both nights with the King of Carrick event on Sunday.

In this day and age of equal opportunity Clare Johnston would love to be on the podium.

Wingless sprints will race on both nights with Sunday night their ‘Make A Wish Charity Dash’, while Formula 500s and speedcars also race on Sunday night.

The Queen of Carrick for street stocks has ten entrants all vying to wear the crown and will be run on Sunday night. Alysia Riley, Mel Collins and Terri Farrell all have good racing experience and are eager to win.

Racing starts at 5pm on both nights.
