It came against the dreaded Dukes ball, usually a weapon for bowlers thanks to its prodigious movement that often unsettles those with the bat.
“It was nice and it has been a while in between drinks,’’ said Webster, who brought up his fourth first-class century off 253 balls before going on to make 136 from 354 at the SCG.
“Obviously I got one last year quite early in the season and the Dukes ball did me over in the back end of the season, so it was nice to get one against the Dukes ball.
“They obviously posted a big total on day one and it was obviously frustrating with the rain on day two and three, but was a nice wicket to bat on, that’s for sure.”
Third-placed Tasmania will play its last matches of the summer at home as it looks to qualify for its first Sheffield Shield final since 2012-13.
It will play South Australia from Monday, before facing Victoria from March 14.
