On Friday, the hotel was awarded gold at the Australian Tourism Awards for the second year in a row.
The hotel won in the Luxury Accommodation category.
Saffire’s sister hotels were also successful, with Hobart’s MACq 01 Hotel awarded silver in the category of New Tourism Business and The Henry Jones Art Hotel awarded bronze in the category of Deluxe Accommodation.
The hotel took to its Facebook page to make the announcement.
“Absolutely thrilled that we’ve just been awarded Gold for Best Luxury Accommodation in the Australian Tourism Awards. Such an exciting celebration, with some top notch nominations,” the post said.
“Huge congratulations to our team back in Tasmania.”
The hotels are all owned by Federal Group, whose tourism portfolio is made up of just three hotels, which were all recognised at the national awards held in Perth, Western Australia.
The group’s general manager for tourism Matt Casey said it was an impressive achievement for the Federal Group’s tourism business unit.
“We’ve enjoyed some success at national level over the years, but for each of our hotels to be awarded in a field of such strong competition across Australia is quite mind‐blowing”, Mr Casey said.
“Our true rewards are smiles on the faces of our guests every day, but it’s great to get industry recognition aswell.
“We’d like to thank the Farrell Family for their vision and incredible support. We’d also like to thank our entire team of professionals – some long‐serving and others just making a start in this exciting industry”.
Also at the national awards, a video was launched to showcase Launceston. The video was launched because the awards will be held at Cataract Gorge in 2019.
Tasmania Walking Company also won its third gold in a row at the awards for Eco-Tourism, securing its self in the hall of fame.
