The Pigs have lost only one game this season - a one-run defeat to St Helens in round 5 - and will take plenty of confidence into Saturday’s T20 clash with St Marys after finishing the season 18 points clear at the top of the ladder.
“The last premiership Pyengana won was in 1895 versus the Anchor tin mine,” captain Anthony Offer said.
“That’s obviously has been closed down for a very long time now so that puts in into perspective.”
The ECCA ladder indicates a dominant season but it hasn’t all been easy for the Pigs.
Preparation for football season left the Pyengana ground out of action for the whole season, forcing the Pigs to travel every week.
Offer praised his side - which has been in recess several times since its last flag win - for banding together despite difficult circumstances to reach its first grand final in many years.
“We’ve really been up against the odds all year - we haven’t had a home ground to play on so we haven't been able to train on our home ground.”
The match will take place at noon at St Helens.
