The Rotary Club of George Town will hold its fifth annual Wings and Things family day on Sunday.

Held at the George Town Airport, the event will feature between 50 and 100 classic cars, a number of vintage planes and a raft of model bikes and steam engines.
The club’s community officer Rick Sherriff said the service club chose a different theme every year.
“This year we went for a [Volkswagen] Kombis and classics theme,” Mr Sherriff said.
“We’ve advertised on Unique Cars and through Shannons [Insurance], so we’re hoping for a really great turnout.
“We’ve got a whole Kombi group coming down with their Kombi vans as well.”
Included among the litany of planes will be a Soviet Union World War II model plane and a pair of Nanchangs – the aircraft of choice for China’s air force in the 1960s.
Some of the aircraft will be running demonstrations and adventure flights throughout the day.
“Planes will fly in from all over the state,” former club president Ron Riley said.
Mr Sherriff said it was important for people to come and support the group’s initiatives.
“All the funding we raise goes back into community projects,” he said. “At the moment we’re working on a project with the George Town Council at Monument Point down there….we’re looking at helping out by putting in a new kids play gym.”
The event will run from 10am to 3pm. Entry is $5 for adults and children under 16 enter for free.
