Power has been restored to 1567 homes in the greater Launceston area. 

UPDATE 8am:

Residents in the greater Launceston area are still without power after an outage on Thursday morning. 

TasNetworks is reported 1567 customers across across Kings Meadows, Newstead, Norwood, Punchbowl and South Launceston are affected. 

The TasNetworks’ website does not have an estimated time of restoration and is now recommending customers check back for more information after 9.30am.

More than 1500 residents living in Launceston woke to no power on Thursday morning. 

TasNetworks crews are working to determine the reason why 1567 homes across Kings Meadows, Newstead, Norwood, Punchbowl and South Launceston are without power. 

TasNetworks does not have an estimated time of restoration at this stage, but the company’s website recommends customer check back after 8am.
