The party announced its $35 million vision for Cradle Mountain back in December.
Veteran environmentalist Bob Brown said the Liberals wanted to “privatise the prime viewing position” instead of opening a visitors centre, which was what had originally been proposed.

Environment Minister Elise Archer said it was not “total” privatisation, adding that the visitor centre would be constructed in conjunction with the Parks and Wildlife Service and private operators, “who have enormous expertise in the running of businesses”.
