A celebration of all things goat, the event will feature the angora goat and mohair fleece championships, breed displays, husbandry, shearing demonstrations and stalls featuring a range of goat related products.
Goat breeders from across Tasmania are expected to attend the event and organiser Carl Roberts said there will be something for everyone.
“The state’s goat industry has experienced a rebirth of sorts in recent years and this event aims to promote that,” he said.
“This year we will have representatives of every major goat breeder in the state, including angora, dairy, miniature and boer.
“Plus there is the opportunity to learn something, from meat, milk and fleece.
“All aspects will be covered and the interest is certainly there.
“Goatfest is a great day out and really something the whole family can enjoy.”
The event will run from 10am to 4pm, with entry via a gold coin donation.
