Bass Liberal MHA Rene Hidding announced a new $5 million police station would be built in Longford should they win the state election.
“The current police station is ridiculously small,” Mr Hidding said.
The police station would be visible and “if not on the main road, near the main road”.
Mr Hidding also announced a crackdown on “anti-social driving” such as hooning and drag-racing, with $100,000 per annum to go toward four military-grade drones for the state and training for Tasmania Police.
“[Drones] are too good not to be used in policing,” he said.
“They overcome the issue of people using the current laws to evade police.”
Mr Hidding said the rollout of body cameras to police was about to commence.
“We expect to see them rolled out over a couple of years,” he said.
Labor would provide an additional $4 million to modernise and refurbish community policy stations around the state should they win the election.
