Tsing Wah’s store manager Anthony Kwong said he was overwhelmed by how well-supported the event was.
“There were people everywhere having lots of fun,” Mr Kwong said.
“We did a Chinese traditional dance, crackers, a lion dance, the Launceston Tai Chi group did a performance and we had a spicy noodle eating competition.
“It really did go off with a bang.”
The spicy noodle competition left 20 faces bright red, with the winners getting a box of Paldo volcano noodles.
Mr Kwong’s advice about water making the burn worse fell upon deaf ears as entrants looked for some relief.
