Four of the 10 artists he chose for the Poimena Gallery exhibition were announced as finalists in the prestigious landscape prize.
Snell was also among the 42 finalists in the running for the award.
“It’s a bizarre coincidence,” he said.
However, it made the exhibition a good opportunity for some insight into the work of the finalists, who included David Marsden, Alex Davern, Chee Yong and Megan Walch, Snell said.

The exhibition will close on March 9, which, coincidentally, is the night the Glover Prize winner will be announced.
The exhibition will be officially launched by QVMAG’s Ashleigh Whatling on Thursday at 5.30pm.
