A love for each other was not the only thing celebrated on Wednesday, with people from all over the world showing appreciation for their local library.

Launceston LINC’s acting information services coordinator Jordana Lory said Library Lovers Day was “integral” to cultural memories.

It’s nice to celebrate all the nice and wonderful treasures you can find in your library.

“They provide opportunities for life-long learning,” Ms Lory said.

The library held a special reading time for children to celebrate.

“We read stories about love and families,” she said.

The children also did some craft activities using love-heart shapes.
