Aimed at bringing together growers and sellers of these species, it was also a chance to introduce the broader community to these amazing plants and perhaps change some perceptions about the cactus by showcasing them in all their glory.
In addition, the organisers used the opportunity to support Lyme Disease research and the scientists who hunt for answers to the problems associated with this misunderstood condition.
The event was an outstanding success with a wide range of exhibits on display and most sellers reporting greater-than-expected sales.
The exhibition also raised more than $1600 for Lyme Disease research.
The feedback has been so positive that the Tasmanian Cacti and Succulent Exhibition and Sales will become an annual event.
