The Spring Gun chaser continued his trailblazing form with a 5-½ length win.
He is now $1.90 favourite with Bet365 to win Monday night’s first semi-final and advance to the final on Saturday night.
Brighton-based Whitney remains in awe of his star chaser who has won 21 of his 49 starts, including the Tasmanian Derby and Hobart Gold Cup, for owner Geoff Bailey.
“He keeps surprising me – I can’t fault him, he’s such an honest chaser,” Whitney said.
Hobart Thousand winner Rock Up Top, now in the care of Blake Pursell, was another to stamp his authority in the heats running the same time as Two Bills.
Other heat winners were Zulu Knocks (29.70), Hemsworth (29.76), Queensland-trained Soft Sand (29.94) and She’s A Honey (30.01).
