Seventeen-year-old Sam Fox completed an all-Australian podium in the four-lap under-19 men’s race, collecting bronze in a time of 59:39.
The Launceston College student finished 1:46 behind Queenslander Cameron Wright and just 12 seconds off New South Wales rider Matthew Dinham in second.
Wyena’s Alex Lack also did his home state proud by being the first Australian home in the under-23 men’s race.
Lack completed five laps in 1:15:48 to finish in fourth place, little more than 30 seconds off bronze and 4:28 behind New Zealand winner Eden Cruise.
New South Wales rider Samara Sheppard won the elite women’s race while fellow statesman Cameron Ivory was the first Australian home in the elite men’s race, finishing third behind two New Zealanders.
