She described her entered artwork as “a whimsical painting” that commentated on the environment and on life.
“For me, it’s important I tell the truth [in my art].”
While there were beautiful things in life, the truth was vastly more complex, she said.
The Glover Prize received more than 400 entries for the 2018 award.
More than 210 entries were received from Tasmanian artist with 26 of the entrants announced as finalists.
But the original paperwork gave the award “a sense of gravitas” that was carried on in the 2018 award.
It was a privilege to be recognised in the award as it was a major Australian art prize, she said.
The award was a “world class exhibition in Evandale”.
“It’s a lovely opportunity to mingle with the art appreciation crowd.”
Duff has entered the Glover Prize several times, receiving both the People’s Choice and Hanger’s Prize twice.
